Trade & Business Apprenticeship
Tintify is currently offering two trade & business paid apprenticeships to help aspiring window tinters become fully qualified in the trade, and start their own location.
This opportunity is only available in Perth Western Australia and submission deadlines will close on 30 January 2025.
Tintify’s Trade & Business Apprenticeship will give the opportunity to learn the trade of window tinting, become fully qualified in the field and learn key business fundamentals for success after the apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is currently only available in Tintify’s Perth location and candidates must be physically located in the Perth region to be accepted.
Tintify is a proud endorser of education and trade skills programs in Australia and welcomes everyone of all backgrounds to apply if they meet the core criteria needed for the apprenticeship:
- Are legally authorised to work and learn in Australia
- Have a valid Western Australia driver licence
- Have regular access (Mon – Fri) to a vehicle of the following: SUV, enclosed ute, hatchback, 4×4 or working van
- Have a valid ABN, or are able to register a new ABN
- Are available for a 12-month commitment on a full-time working schedule (8 hours per day, 5 days a week)
- Are able to engage in physical, active work (minimal heavy lifting required – only work equipment such as ladder)
The right candidate will also demonstrate the following core skills for success in the apprenticeship:
- Highly responsible and able to work very well independently
- Very strong customer service skills
- Strong problem solving skills and conflict mitigation strategies
- Reliable and dependable nature
- Desire and motivation towards learning a new trade and pursuing business goals
Please read before applying:
- This trade & business apprenticeship is a full-time, paid 12-month apprenticeship (Mon – Fri, 8 hours a day)
- This apprenticeship will be contractual, and a 12-month contract is required with penalties for early exit
- A full commitment to this training period is required, please only apply if you are able to commit to this period
The core learning cirriculum for this apprenticeship will be divided into key areas, trade and business skills.
Trade skills will cover the following areas of development:
- Full accreditation in residential and commercial window film installation (automotive window film not included)
- Application techniques of multi-film methods (standard, security, sub-type)
- Advanced window frame and height techniques (wooden, alluminium, heights above 3 metres, heights 4 metres and above)
- Training in both installation and removal techniques of window film
- Development of tools, equipment and material skills (equipment usage, window film practices, safe tool procedures)
Business skills will cover the following areas of development:
- Establishing a new window tinting location/business
- Hiring & training methods for both administration and labour
- Administration practices and organisation procedures
- Legal business structuring and financial guidelines
- Sourcing affordable window film/window film practices
- Digital asset guidelines (website, marketing, branding, asset creation scope)
- Risk adversion methods for new locations/businesses
- General good practice principles for compliance
Role Specifications:
- Hourly rate for this role is between $40 – $50 per hour (this is based on a 25% revenue split on jobs performed)
- The higher the experience level over the apprenticeship, the higher the hourly rate will subsequently be
- The two-week core training period will be paid but at half the usual rate (12.5%)
- Throughout the apprenticeship, customer reviews will be received on jobs performed and the apprentice will be reviewed based on these
